Lisa Lazenby has taught at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, a performing arts high school, since 1994. She is a Las Vegas native and a graduate of Bishop Gorman High School. Ms. Lazenby received her bachelor's degree from Chapman University in dance and communications. Upon graduating, she danced professionally for a number of years touring across the Western United States in the production of "Vegas Lights" and performed locally in "Legends in Concert" and "Splash" among others. She was a professional cheerleader for the Silver Streaks in the World Basketball League and was on the aerobic performance team for 24 Hour Fitness. While continuing to dance professionally, Ms. Lazenby received her teaching certification from UNLV and is licensed in Dance and English.

Her training includes Graham-based modern, jazz, contemporary, ballet, postmodern techniques, tap, pom, and yoga. She completed a 3-year long training program, and is nationally certified with Dance Educators of America. In 2017, Ms. Lazenby was on the Fine Arts Standards review panel that created dance standards for the Nevada Department of Education. Additionally, she adjudicated for CCSD's solo and ensemble festival. Ms. Lazenby has, and continues to explore movement by training in workshops and master classes nationally from renowned choreographers and teachers. She also consistently educates herself in the areas of fitness & nutrition.
